Captain Captastic is a trading name of The Stitch
Mine Ltd. The Stitch Mine is a new company formed in 2006 by
myself Anthony, and Caroline Averill. We are certainly not new to the
embroidery and cap embroidery business with a combined experience of some
36 years. Caroline deals with the admin, while Anthony is involved with
the design and production of the caps.
Over the last 18 years, we have produced caps for many small clubs right
through to multi-national blue chip companies. An average order is usually
around 250 caps, with the largest so far far being 8000. Over the years
we have produced several hundred thousand cap's and still occasionally
spot the odd one from the early days.
Cap embroidery is problably the most difficult of the
embroidery skills to master. Many embroiderers avoid caps because they
require a completely different technique to flat work such as polo shirts.
We have made this our speciality and now embroider caps for other embroiderery
companies as well as supplying direct. Quality is paramount at The Stitch
Mine. We set our standards high because when people see your logo, you
want them to see it looking great, not just OK. On the factory floor,
we work to a rule. "Every cap has a customers name on it,
but it also has ours. If it's bad it's not going out."
We welcome visitors and our happy to show people around our production
facilities. Quite often it's hard to prise people away from the production
area as they amazed at how the machinery actually works. I must admit
even after 18 years a really complicated design still grabs my attention.
Yours Sincerely,
Anthony J W Averill (Managing Director)
